Frontier Markets (FM) is seeking to hire a Data Insights and Analytics Head to lead the function of building process of building and interpreting rural household insights. A key part of the role will be collecting and analyzing rural data sets and offering strategic insight and recommendations at a senior level. Reporting to the CEO and Co-CEO, you will be coordinating efforts across the organization, including Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product and Channel teams. FM has large ambitions for 2017, and is looking to expand their team of "crebels" - creative rebels to create a revolution in this space. They are seeking "creatives" to build a multi-million-dollar business, and "rebels" to challenge status quo.

Frontier Markets is a leading rural marketing organization focused on redefining and fulfilling aspirations of rural households. FM builds rural outreach through multiple channels, including direct trade and partnerships with Government and Federations. They currently design, manufacture and distribute clean energy and solar products, and are planning to launch other socially relevant, energy efficient products in the coming year. In 2017-18 their target is to reach to over 500K rural households of Rajasthan, and expand into a range of new states. They want you to be part of this impact story.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Data building

Prepare roadmap around consumer insights needed for business growth

Assess and execute deployment of systems and technology (in-house or outsourced) to deliver consumer insights and analytics

Assess and execute methods for data collection to gain deeper consumer insights across:

Demographics, mobile usage, media habits, etc

Product need assessments, satisfaction levels with existing and competition products, etc

Inventory stocking pattern of retailers etc

Data analysis and insights

Undertake detailed quantitative and qualitative research across rural households

Identify opportunities and provide growth recommendations through insights into the market segments and behavior insights

Stakeholder management

Interface with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver organization wide solutions

Work with Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product, Traditional Channel Sales and Alternate Channel Sales

Work across functions to deliver new systems to build household data

Share insights and recommendation across the business to drive data-driven decision making and prioritization, including:

Collaborate with Product to deliver product roadmap

Collaborate with marketing to deliver go-to-market strategy

Does this sound like you:
6+ years of experience building data collection systems and processes

Experience analyzing data to draw out consumer insights

Experience collaborating with multiple functions (e.g. Marketing, Sales Product)

Able and passionate to travel across rural areas ; initially upto 50% of time for data collection design and execution

Strong verbal communication across English and Hindi

A dynamic, self-motivated and curious individual who is willing to get their hands dirty

Strongly preferred:
Experience with "big data" analytics software e.g. Hadoop, SAS, SQL and Tableau

Experience with data collection across rural households

Experience across consumer durables and consumer electronics

Graduate in management or data analytics preferred
