BCG's Operational Improvement group is therefore focused on enabling the step-change improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of BCG's internal functions and operations. The group works with the individual functions and geographies to define and prioritize the set of improvement initiatives, manages the portfolio of projects in a consistent and robust manner, accelerates analytics and specific redesign processes when required, assists project owners to drive change throughout the firm, and oversees the measurement and monitoring tools that define progress made and value delivered.

Job Responsibilities
The project coordinator will be a key member of a small, permanent team charged with improving operational outcomes across BCG. The head of OI reports to the CEO.

The vast majority of this role (80%) will be dedicated to supporting the implementation of new/existing internal operating improvement initiatives, working in close partnership with the relevant operating unit (either an individual function or geography, or a cross-functional or cross-geography team[WS1] ).

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Operation Improvement Initiatives (80[WS2] %)

  • In partnership with initiative owners and the OI Global Director support change management projects.
  • Work with line owners to define end-state processes and organizational models
  • Execute analyses to build case for change
  • Develop an expertise on data sources and analytics
  • Become a key point of contact for OI activities.
  • Define milestones and link to value creation
  • Manage specific implementation efforts to ensure projects remain on course and objectives are realized on-time and within budget parameters

Basic Job Requirements
Education/Experience
  • 7+ years of applicable experience or currently within BCG consulting as Associate / Consultant
  • MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
  • Knowledge/Skills (job function, technical, computer, language)
  • Global experience strongly preferred
  • Management consulting or professional services experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); Additional languages a strong plus
  • Job requirements/work environment (including travel, physical demands if applicable)
  • Flexibility due to time zone differences
  • Limited international travel required
