About the Role
The curriculum team at Bridge produces over 1000 printed books per year across 5 markets. The team produces close to 50,000 teacher guides.
Bridge is headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, but the Global Academics team has been based out of the United States (Boston) for the past four years. Recently, the Global Academics team has expanded to Bridge’s Hyderabad office as well.
Curriculum Writers are based in our Hyderabad office, and assigned to a team led by a Hyderabad-based Curriculum Manager. These teams support work led by a Curriculum Director, the majority of whom work in the Boston office.
By joining as a Curriculum Department as a writer, you join a team working to make a difference in the world. In the markets we serve, the number of pupils attending school is soaring, but the quality of most schools, according to international experts, is low. Writers join our Curriculum Department to invest time in producing quality learning materials to improve thousands of children’s daily academic experience.
One core tenet of Bridge curriculum is less lecture (traditional among many schools in our markets) and more pupil practice. That is, we're trying to make the pupil experience less "rote." “Teacher Guides” (daily lessons delivered by e-reader), textbooks, and other materials are produced by the Curriculum Department with that goal in mind. Improving learning gains among pupils is our number one priority.
We are currently hiring writers to begin between June and August 2017.
